Today, our merchant marine officers and ratings (non-officers) are in majority of the NYK fleet. They operate and man modern and sophisticated ships that traverse the seas transporting goods and raw materials across continents.
Under our E2R (Education & Training to Employment to Retirement) program, we build relationships with our seafarers from the time they are in school, throughout their professional career as seafarers, and when they retire from sea duty; we offer alternative land-based employment that enable them to use years of experience as shipping executives or maritime instructors to the younger generation of Filipino seafarers.
